Today is our Old San Juan day, and we started with El Morro. This 16th century fort was built to defend San Juan Bay and the original settlement of San Juan from seaborne attacks by opposing colonial powers. Today, the fort is operated by the US National Park Service and welcomes more than 2 million visitors each year, making it the most popular attraction in Old San Juan. #nowyouknow
